The Tear Down
Finally started I completed a lot of work. I was able to remove the Radiator, Gas Tank, Exhaust system, all lights and chrome, engine components, and bumpers.
The car is pretty much ready to start removing the body. I plan on removing the engine in the next week or so. It's ready as well.
Once I remove the engine, I can move a bit faster removing the brake lines and cables. I then start disassembling the front and rear suspension and steering components. This should go pretty fast.
I have been pleasantly surprised at a lot of the components. Radiator, gas tank, reflector and light escusions, door handles and so on. Most of these will not have to be replaced, just re-chromed or cleaned.
The body work is going to be a big hit on the pocket book. The body is not in as good of condition as I thought. But if you compare to some of the cars I've seen, we're in real good shape. May require a new front fender and drivers door.
